On April 24, 2009, the company signed a cooperation agreement governing telemedicine and aerospace applications with the Shanba Group, and established a strategic cooperative partnership.

April 16, 2009
On April 16, 2009, following discussions with the Ukraine National Space Agency on alternative energy cooperation, CGWIC President Ying Liming and NSAU head Oleksandr Zinchenko signed a NSAU-CGWIC memorandum of understanding.
March 24, 2009
On March 24, 2009, the company signed a contract with the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Science and Technology and Nigerian Communication Satellite Ltd. to provide the NigComSat-1R satellite, which will replace NigComSat-1, which failed on November 11, 2008 following an in-orbit failure of its solar array.

The NigComSat-1R satellite will be based on the DFH-4 satellite platform developed by China Academy of Space Technology (CAST), and will be fitted with a total of 28 transponders; the satellite will be positioned over the equator at a longitude of 42.5°E, and has a design life span of 15 years. NigComSat-1R will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2011on a LM-3B/E launch vehicle developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT) from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center.

On March 2-4, 2009, the company organised a promotional event for Chinese aerospace technology products in the Sarteneja Technology Park, Caracas, Venezuela, attended by Venezuelan Ministry of Science and Technology and other government officials, as well as senior managers from a range of major telecommunications and oil companies.
January 11, 2009
On January 11, 2009, the company formally completed in-orbit delivery to Venezuela of VeneSat-1 as well as its associated land-based monitoring and controls and teleport systems. A delivery ceremony was held in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, attended by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and China's ambassador to Venezuela, Zhang Shican.
