LM-2C Successfully Launches Shijian-11-01 Satellite

At AM10:45 Beijing Time on November 12, 2009, China’s LM-2C launch vehicle conducted a launch in Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center (JSLC), successfully sending Shijian-11/01 satellite into predetermined Sun-Synchronous Orbit (SSO).

Shijian-11/01 satellite is manufactured by China Spacesat Co. Ltd. subordinated to China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp. (CASC). The satellite will mainly be used for space science and engineering ex-periments.

The LM-2C launch vehicle is developed by China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT) subordinated to CASC. The launch marks the 32nd consecutive successful flight of Long March 2C launch vehicle since its maiden flight and the 119th flight of Long March series of launch vehicles.
